PROJECT INFORMATION

Physical Activities Programming

Please review the program criteria and complete the fields below.

  • Funds must be used to grant free access to aquatic facilities or ice arenas in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Initiatives must increase access to sport and recreation for individuals and must be intended for and broadly accessible to the public.
  • Free access must occur in 2025.
  • Free access should occur consistently, if possible.
  • Free access should be scheduled at prime times.
  • Free access may include existing initiatives with admission fees or may be used for new initiatives.
  • Facilities must actively communicate free access to the public.
  • Aquatic facilities must have certified lifeguards on duty during public activities.
  • The Year of Sport logo must be included in all promotions associated with this program.
  • Organizations with multiple facilities will need to complete a separate application for each facility.

Physical Activities Programming

Please follow the instructions below to determine the amount of funding requested. Each letter in the instruction list corresponds with the columns in the chart below:

A. List the type of physical activity that will be offered to the public for free.
B. Indicate total number of free access hours to be offered in 2025.
C. Indicate the pre-established hourly rental rate for use of the facility for each proposed activity.

  • The proposed days, start times and end times for each proposed physical activity.
  • The total number of weeks you intend to offer free access in 2025.

Please note that free access should be scheduled at prime times to support increased public participation. Also note that your total free access hours should correspond with the physical activities schedule described below.
